THE FUTURE OF POST-PRODUCTION
VFX compositors are the key to the stunning effects seen on screen today. They combine the footage filmed on set with 3D elements or other CGI. Compositors also alter, fix, and enhance footage to better match the director’s vision. All of the final pieces of a scene are assembled by compositors, who can transform a shot into something spectacular that initially was not possible. Compositing is now the most important role in post-production, required on nearly every modern film and video project.
ONE-ON-ONE MENTORSHIP FROM VFX PROS
Learn from the most accomplished Visual Effects artists in Canada. Instructors in the VFX Compositing program are actively working in the industry and have credits that range from massive films such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, and The Avengers to TV series such as Game of Thrones, The Mandalorian, and Stranger Things. Small class sizes emphasize personalized learning and ensure one-on-one attention from instructors at every stage.
ENTERTAINMENT’S FASTEST-GROWING FIELD
While a film or television show might have only a single editor, often dozens of compositors are required even for a simple TV commercial. With the ever-rising demand for visual effects, studios are in desperate need of new compositors. With lots of work to do and not enough people to do it, salaries are high and professional growth is inevitable. With the rise of remote workplaces, you don’t even need to live near a studio anymore.
EDUCATION THAT LEADS TO EMPLOYMENT
InFocus alumni work on everything from massive Marvel superhero films to Oscar-winning dramas to critically acclaimed TV to indie gems. Workshops with recruiters and VFX studios give students insight into what employers are looking for and classes on career development ensure a polished portfolio and resume. Not only will your instructors provide mentorship and knowledge, but as actively working VFX professionals they provide job leads, references, and networking options upon and after graduation. Nearly all students graduating from the Visual Effects Compositing program find work in the industry within 6 months. You could be next.
