VISUAL EFFECTS COMPOSITING INSTRUCTORS
Xenia Pirojenko has been working in the VFX industry for the past 6 years as a senior compositor, key artist and supervisor of the roto/paint department on titles such as Game of Thrones, Finch, Bumblebee, and many more. Throughout her career, she realized how important it is to share knowledge and information with artists and that is why she decided to take up a new challenge and teach what she loves.
James Lee is an experienced compositor, where he worked on many well-known feature films and television shows such as Ms. Marvel, Black Panther 2, Detective Pikachu, Ad Astra and Skyscraper. He also worked at studios such as Digital Domain, Fuse, Encore, Kalos Studios, MPC and Dneg. He has excellent knowledge both in technical and creative skills in Nuke compositing software.
James’s hobbies include cooking, gaming and walking his dog, Candy.
Susanna Josef is a VFX Compositor based in Montreal with a background of traditional art, cinematography, TV production and software engineering. Susanna has worked on many fantastic titles throughout her professional career, including Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023), Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (2022), Top Gun: Maverick (2022), Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018), Maleficent (2014) and Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), just to name a few!
Daniel Azevedo is a Digital Compositor, based in Toronto, Ontario. His impressive and extensive list of credits include some of today’s most well-known films and television series across platforms like Disney+, Amazon Prime Video and more. His visual effects work can be seen on projects such Logan, The Shallows, The Greatest Showman, The Mist, The Mandalorian, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and The Boys.
Karl Buckley has 20+ years of experience in the 3D animation industry and has worked for many studios such as: Mainframe Entertainment, Electronic Arts, Technicolor, Rainmaker Entertainment, Waterproof Studios and WildBrain Studios.
For most of his career Karl has worked as a look development artist and 3D modeler. Some of the projects Karl has worked on include the following titles: Escape from Planet Earth (animated feature), Driver San Francisco (game cinematics), Splinter Cell “Conviction” (game trailer), Ghost Busters (game trailer), Company of Heroes 2 (game trailer), Assassins Creed 2 (game cinematics), Assassins Creed 3 (game cinematics), Need for Speed Most Wanted (game), Def Jam “The Fight for New York” (game).
In addition to his production experience, Karl has also been a part time instructor for over 10 years, mentoring 3D animation students in the areas of shading and texturing, problem solving, and developing a keen eye for details.
