ANAHIT LOU
GRAPHIC DESIGN DEPARTMENT HEAD
Anahit Lou is a multidisciplinary designer, art director, and educator passionate about modernism and ethical design. With a background in corporate law, she’s devoted nearly a decade to successful work in design, education, and art direction. A founder of a design studio in 2013, specializing in branding, art direction, and interior design consultation, she has also been a design educator since 2017, she exudes academic excellence, fosters entrepreneurial confidence, strategic thinking, and conceptual creativity. Deeply influenced by phenomenology, she believes in the power of human interaction and experience which has shaped the distinct character of her work.
KARAM HANNA
INSTRUCTOR
Karam Hanna is a marketer, entrepreneur, and educator. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Lebanon’s University of Balamand, and has stayed current with the fast-paced field of digital marketing through certifications from Hubspot Academy and Google.
Over the past 15 years, Karam has worked for start-ups, international businesses, and in digital projects management across multiple industries and categories. He’s worked for companies such as American Express Global Business Travel, and has also founded companies of his own, among them digital marketing agency Onlinetraffico. Whether working for himself or others, Karam always develops solutions, manages teams, and grows revenues with an approach that balances both data and creativity.
Karam has taught marketing and business at schools across Canada. He brings his real-world experience into the classroom so that students learn more than just theory, and his focus transcends mastering programs and platforms: he teaches students to connect with their target audiences, and to consider both marketing and creative perspectives. Karam has a passion for inspiring multicultural learners, and encouraging them to persevere through their scholastic journeys.
RACHEL DIAN
INSTRUCTOR
Rachel Dian is a graphic designer and educator with a background in web design and a passion for print. She studied design at Ryerson University and the University of British Columbia.
Rachel has more than 15 years of industry experience, specializing in branding solutions and creative direction for small businesses, startups, and non-profits. Her clients include the British Columbia Federation of Students, University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine, and BC Green Party, among others. Her design work has enjoyed press on websites such as Buzzfeed, Wedluxe.com, Ruffled, Rocky Mountain Bride, and more.
Students benefit not only from Rachel’s real-world experience, but also from her expertise as an instructor: she’s taught in classrooms since 2016, and has offered one-on-one graphic design tutoring since 2012.
PEREOWEI OSEKAMEBOR
INSTRUCTOR
With more than 15 years of web design and development experience across three countries, as well as a keen interest in user interface and experience design, Pereowei Osekamebor brings a rich technical perspective to our team of instructors.
After working in web design and administration for over a decade, Pereowei moved to Canada in 2018 and attended the New Brunswick College of Crafts & Design in Fredericton, earning a diploma in Digital Media – Web Design. He has since worked on projects for clients representing a wide range of industries: oil and gas, non-profit, education, and business consulting, among others.
Pereowei is currently the web specialist for Atlantic Colleges Atlantique, where he heads web and graphic design for the organization.
DANIEL SORENSON
INSTRUCTOR
Daniel Sorenson is an award-winning designer, art director, motion graphics artist, author, and educator based in Los Angeles, California. An alumnus of the Art Center College of Design, he began his career as a print designer, quickly advancing to the position of creative director.
Over the years, Daniel has done campaign, identity, and motion graphics design work for many high-profile companies in the entertainment space, including FX, Fox Television LA, My Network TV, Paramount Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox, and Universal. Work he created for Universal Television received first place for art direction and design from the Mobius International Awards and The Promax Global Excellence Awards.
Daniel has taught for nearly two decades at various institutions, including UCLA Extension, Otis College of Art and Design, and Art Center College of Design. He’s also shared his knowledge as an author: Peachpit Press published his book, Photoshop for Advertising and Marketing – Secrets of an Entertainment Insider, and he’s written articles for Photoshop User and Layers magazines. Daniel’s passion for teaching extends to the online space, where he maintains a YouTube channel, Digital Design Ranch, that features more than 70 tutorials in Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
DAN GOLDBERG
INSTRUCTOR
Dan Goldberg is graphic designer with a passion for creating visually compelling experiences. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The University of Manitoba, and a Graphic Design Diploma from Red River College.
Over the course of his 15-year career, Dan has worked both in 9–5 design jobs and as a freelancer, building a vast portfolio of print and digital work. Collaborating with prominent brands in the outdoor industry — among them Coghlan’s and FXR Racing — he created and coordinated extensive asset collections, built brand catalogs, and designed ads and packaging.
Dan has also worked with entertainers in the music and comedy spheres to create promotional merchandise, album artwork, and posters. Notably, his work for the band Doc Walker has been awarded three consecutive Canadian Country Music Awards for Best Website. Beyond design, Dan boasts skills in product development, brand strategy, photoshoot art direction, and project management.
Passionate about teaching, Dan started his journey as an educator in college — over the years, he’s led classes covering art and technology topics for both adults and teens. When he’s not teaching and designing, he moonlights as a standup comedian and trivia host.
