GAME DESIGN INSTRUCTORS

LEAD INSTRUCTOR

CORY RODIS

Cory Rodis has published multiple games of his own, has experience in MMORPG, TCG, and tabletop design, and is a published writer. His students have gone on to work at some of the most acclaimed studios in the world. He spends much of his free time working with students, creating game design communities, fostering and guiding discussion, and consulting on game projects. With nearly a decade of experience in games and education, Cory brings a fresh approach to game design that combines the theoretical with the practical to foster a deep and holistic skillset in his students.

LEVEL DESIGN & UNREAL ENGINE

GREGORY MCMARTIN

Gregory McMartin brings 18 years of experience in video game development. Through working with companies such as Cavedog Entertainment, Electronic Arts, Relic Entertainment, Turbine, and Radical Entertainment, Gregory has experienced video game development from many vantage points. Gregory has played principal creative roles for the following titles, among others: “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets PC,” “Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction,” and “Scarface: The World is Yours.” Gregory was also the project lead for Cavedog’s ambitious “Amen: The Awakening” and wrote the original game design treatment for Relic’s “Homeworld.”

VICTOR DIAZ

Victor Diaz is a game developer with over 7 years of experience working with industry-leading game engines such as Unity and Unreal. Currently, he serves as a full-time Lead Game Developer at a game studio in Vancouver. Throughout his career, he has contributed to over 30 successful projects, utilizing experience in game programming and development. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Game Programming and a Diploma in Advanced Game Development, and provides his students with a strong foundation in both technical and creative aspects of game design.

JORGE PUERTOVANNETTI

Jorge Puertovannetti is a game designer and developer, specializing in game programming, currently working in the VFX industry. He has worked on titles such as Candle Knight, Chibi Clash, RuPaul’s Drag Race: Superstar, The Office: Somehow We Manage, and BudMatch: Munchie Match. He has extensive experience as an instructor and mentor for game development, and trained as an Unreal Authorized Instructor for Epic Games. He is a fan of game jams, speedruns, and anything related to Nintendo.

NAOMI BUCHANAN-NGUYEN

Naomi Buchanan-Nguyen brings two decades of expertise in User Experience, Graphic, Web, and Instructional Design, sharing her knowledge as both an instructor and professional across various educational institutions in Canada. Her hands-on teaching style and distinct perspective cater to students from different backgrounds, proving particularly advantageous for individuals in the neurodivergent community.
She is excited to join the remarkable team of educators at the College, Naomi aims to equip students with the technical aspects of the Design industry while emphasizing the importance of design fundamentals. Her unique approach and commitment to inclusivity make her a valuable addition to the institution.
