3D ANIMATION DEPARTMENT HEAD
Magic brings more than 20 years of experience in 2D and 3D animation. He’s had a lifelong passion for Animation, drawing and painting. He studied fine arts in university and gained experience as a 2D animator working in a production atmosphere. He went on to study Digital Animation and shortly after became involved with local animation studios such as Bardel Entertainment in Vancouver
With more than 12 years of experience teaching at some of the top 10 schools in the world. Magic has maintained a high-quality educational experience throughout the years and is recognized as one of the industry’s top instructors. The students he has taught have gone on to work on award-winning films and acclaimed video games.
Magic has been involved in producing 3D short films and worked on The Addams Family 2 movie in recent years.
Magic has taught more than 1,500 students and has graduates in nearly every major studio in the world, such as; Pixar, Disney, EA, Dream Works, Digital Domain, Animal Logic, and more.
SELMAN KANTARCI
3D ANIMATION
Selman Kantarci describes himself as equal parts animator and modeler with a love for digital work. He began drawing at a young age, which soon morphed into a love for classical animation, soon evolving to flash and eventually 3D. He believes animation is about interacting with people, finding out what makes them tick, and observing with great detail. Recently, Selman has worked on Detective Pikachu and with Angelina Jolie on Maleficent 2.
ARTURO BACCIO
3D MODELING
Arturo Baccio began developing his love for 3D modeling and animation in 2012 when he graduated from Vancouver Film School’s 3D program. He has worked with a variety of studios as a 3D Modeler such as Wildbrain, Stellar Creative Lab and Mainframe Studios, as well as at Atomic Cartoons as a Rigger and CG Generalist and at DHX Media as a 2D Builder and CG Generalist. Throughout his professional career, he has worked on well-known titles like Rocky and Bullwinkle (2014), Molly of Denaly (2019), and Carmen Sandiego (2019-2021).
JUAN CISNEROS
LIGHTING
Juan, a Mexico City native, has spent the last 15 years immersed in Vancouver’s dynamic landscape, both personally and professionally. Specializing in lighting for computer animation, his technical prowess has brought visual magic to digital projects. Beyond pixels, Juan is a passionate table tennis player, finding balance in the fast-paced game amid his intricate work in the world of animation.
MARIO ALBERTO MELGOZA RUIZ
3D RIGGING
Mario Alberto Melgoza Ruiz began his 3D career in Mexico and has been working in the CG industry for over 10 years as an accomplished Rigger, Rigging Supervisor, Character and Technical Artist. As a 3D artist specializing in movement, he always looks forward to bringing the best solutions to the characters he works on. Throughout his career, he has worked with studios such as ExodoDW, Demente Estudio in Mexico and ICON Creative Studio and Sony Pictures Imageworks in Vancouver, BC.
