AUDITION WITH CONFIDENCE
Whether you are new to acting or have some experience, this course will cover all aspects of On-Camera Acting, from the basics to best practices. Each week students will learn important practical knowledge and tools before getting up on camera to practice, apply, and watch their results. Over 8 weeks we cover: improvising on camera, breaking down a script, character work, scene work, cold reading, slating, and auditioning for Film & TV and commercials. You will learn about the industry and we will discuss building a profile and getting an agent.
INSTRUCTOR
DOLORES DRAKE
Dolores Drake has worked extensively in theatre, film, and TV for 35 years along with 20 years of teaching and coaching experience. She has worked in feature films with renowned directors Joel Schumacher, Bill Forsythe, Anne Wheeler, and Alan Rudolph. Her recent film credits include The Professor, Netflix’s Always Be my Maybe, Cop and a Half, and HBO’s Starstruck A Cinderella Story. Dolores has played principal and supporting lead roles in several TV Movies including Coyote Creek Christmas, Love Stuck Café, and Warming up to You. Her roles in TV series include The Mighty Ducks and Turner and Hooch. Dolores also has a breadth of experience in theatre, having worked on the west coast with The Belfry, Arts Club, Citadel, and more. She has written, produced, and performed three one-woman plays and created her own youth professional development program.

Cancellations: We require at least two full weeks notice if you intend to cancel. If we receive your cancellation notice less than 10 business days before the course begins, no refund will be issued. A $30 administration fee will apply to all other cancellations.

COURSE HIGHLIGHTS
It’s time to get on your feet! In this course, you will learn how to turn study into performance. Starting with the concept, students learn to tap into the character, mapping their emotional and motivational path through the scene. Through working in depth with a script, doing the research, and breaking down hard and soft traits, you will learn to navigate the rendition and complexion of the character. Practicing these skills and insights, you will be guided in bringing the material to life while harnessing your own personality and life experience.

INSTRUCTOR
JACKIE BLACKMORE
Jackie Blackmore is a professional film, TV, and voice actor, director, acting coach, sketch comedian, and improviser with over 30+ years of experience. She has a BFA in Media Arts from Emily Carr University. As an instructor, Jackie has taught at InFocus Film School, VFS, Instant Theatre, Carousel Theatre, and Arts Umbrella. Jackie’s film and TV highlights include: Noelle, The Magicians, Loudermilk, Hit The Road, Family Pictures, Man in the High Castle, and Death Note. Jackie is passionate about acting and loves inspiring actors to develop and grow their careers.
