They will leave with real-world industry experience and valuable relationships for providing curated content to agents and pitch forums.

WRITER'S ROOM An experienced TV showrunner will develop their original series with the class in a real-world, writer’s room setting. The show’s premise, characters, world and rules will already established by the showrunner. The class will constructively collaborate on episode ideas, taking their characters and plots from point A to Z over several episodes. Each writer will write their own full-length episode for this series. In the event the series is picked up by an entertainment platform, writers will receive an IMDB credit for their episode. TV PILOT Writers will conceptualize and pitch an original series idea. Throughout the course writers will workshop their world building, characters, A, B, and C plots, and arcs before writing the pilot script. They will receive feedback in both a group setting as well as one on one mentorships with industry professionals every step of the way. FACTUAL ENTERTAINMENT + DOCS Non-fiction television has been booming over the last ten years. From character-driven documentaries such as Netflix’s Wild Wild Country to factual series such as Tidying Up With Marie Kondo, viewers are captivated by the larger than life “characters” they see on screen. POV documentaries and factual television shows are in high demand. This course aims to help emerging documentarians develop and package content for TV and streaming platforms. BUSINESS FOR WRITERS Writers will exercise their skills in pitching, networking, writing grants, relationship building, working with an agent, and more. They will learn how to entice producers, or position themselves as the best option for that last spot at the writer’s table in a television series. At the end of the year writers will present their pitch packages and scripts to an industry panel of production studios, entertainment platforms and writing agents. Courses
