DIGITAL GRAPHIC DESIGN INSTRUCTORS

LEILA SINGLETON

GRAPHIC DESIGN DEPARTMENT HEAD

Leila Singleton is a hands-on art and creative director freelancing in Vancouver. Drawing since she was a few months old, she had planned to study painting but fell in love with graphic design. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with honors, in the latter discipline from the Savannah College of Art & Design.

Leila started her career as an ad agency art director in Colorado, built a DMO’s in-house design division in San Francisco, and then went solo, creating award-winning works for clients at the University of California, Berkeley, and for San Francisco’s iconic Stern Grove Festival Association, among others.

Over the years, Leila has amassed more than four dozen honors from organizations such as Creative Quarterly, GD USA Magazine, Graphis, and more. Her work appears in over two dozen publications, and even graced a lamppost banner in Times Square, New York City, in an exhibition by the American Institute of Graphic Arts.

DANIEL SZILAGYI

UX/UI

Daniel Szilagyi is an award-winning user experience & interface designer and artist living in Vancouver Canada, he’s worked in the industry for over 8 years and started in TV animation working as a designer, storyboard artist, animator, and more for shows like Class of The Titans, Johnny Test and 1001 Nights before moving into the video and mobile games industry in UX and UI design and development. Daniel has worked on game titles such as  “GI Joe Battleground” “NFL Matchups” and “Halo: The master chief collection” among others titles as an art lead and UX/UI designer.
Sensing the need to promote better digital experiences for people Daniel started to work more exclusively in the tech industry and has worked for rocket ship startup companies, internationally known companies and services, and much more. His client list includes ADP, BC Manufacturers Alliance, The Department of National Defence of Canada (DND), USA Cycling, US Forestry, LA School board, Microsoft and more.

CORINA ALEXANDRA POP

STRATEGIC DESIGN

With 13 years of experience, having worked and studied across 9 countries, Corina Alexandra Pop brings a strategic marketing mindset and an original perspective into graphic design. Having worked on both sides of the barricade – in business as well as in graphic design and in many markets around the world, she has a deep understanding of an organization’s strategy and objectives, creates designs that speak meaningfully to intended audiences, and that deliver business results.

After getting her graphic design degree in Vancouver, Corina took on an exciting role as an in-house designer for one of Canada’s fastest-growing health & wellness brands, where she has been designing and directing full-scale digital marketing campaigns, as well as a variety of exciting print materials for the company’s stores and smoothie bars. As an independent designer, Corina has been designing brand identities for young companies from all over the world and across a variety of industries.

CARSON MCKEE

MARKETING

Carson brings over 15 years of marketing and advertising experience with national, international, sports and major CPG brands to his teaching experience.

Carson is the founder of Direct Brand Strategy and has experince in agency, freelance and consultant roles with CPG and sports brands, focused on marketing strategy, content development, media buying and end-to-end campaign execution. His clients have included NHL teams including the Vancouver Canucks and Minnesota Wild, the NFL, Ford, Denny’s, and more.
